Do the beds contain any metal?

Our beds contain a minimum of metal pieces. The upholstered bed doesn't have many screws and the slats on the bed frame are connected via a jute strap.

We do ship overseas. The delivery method will vary depending on the country and the products selected . How long should I wait after unpacking my mattress before using it?

Your mattress will regain its shape quite quickly. We recommend waiting at least 2 hours before using it. You can sleep on your mattress the same day its delivered. Notes: We've chosen to roll up and compress the mattress for shipment which makes shipping and delivery easier. The cotton in your mattress is natural and untreated. Its colour may surprise you but this is the natural colour of cotton as we don't use any kind of bleach or chemicals so the material retains its natural colour. We use 100% natural latex and we don't use polyurethane foam. That's why the corners of your mattress will take a little longer to get back into shape. If you want to speed up the process, you can shake each corner by holding the top edge. Our plastic is reclyclable. We's appreciate it if you would make the effort to recycle it. (We're working to find an alternative to this material and hope to be able to stop using plastic in the packaging very soon).

How is the Kipli duvet made?

The Kipli duvets are made in Bavaria, in Germany in an Oeko-Tex certified factory, specialists in the production of natural materials. The first stage in the production consists of collecting the fibres that make up the filling. The duvet's filling is made of 100% Lyocell TENCEL™ , mainly extracted from eucalyptus wood from sustainable crops. Once this has been transformed, the filler is split into two layers. A unique feature of our duvets is this double insulation which enables great thermal regulation whilst being breathable at the same time. The duvet is warm, padded and breathable for maximum comfort while sleeping. The 100% orgánic cotton cover is filled with Lyocell and is sewn together using a sophisticated grinding technique that provides a quality finish.

Do Kipli's products exude any odor of latex or chemical products?

No, our duvets don't exude any odors. And they're not toxic. Kipli's mattresses are healthy and don't generate any kind of toxic emissions. We don't use polyurethane, memory foam, flame retardants or chemical adhesives between the latex layers of our mattresses. We use 100% natural Dunlop latex and certified organic cotton. Very occasionally, you may notice a slight smell of natural latex when your duvet arrives, however, this will dissipate very quickly. This is not a chemical smell.

Does the Kipli mattress regulate body temperature?

With the Kipli mattress you'll be neither too hot nor too cold. The natural materials that are used in our mattresses - natural latex for the core and organic cotton, Tencel© and wool for the cover, are naturally breahtable materials which reduce night sweats. Furthermore, the alveolar structure of the mattress's core ensures optimal air circulation. This facilitates heat regulation ensuring a comfortable temperature so you can sleep well.

How is my natural latex Kipli pillow made?

The natural latex Kipli uses in our pillows is sourced from Sri Lanka and then transported so that the end product is made in Italy . This is then made according to the Dunlop process . The liquid latex is transformed into foam by a process in which compressed air and natural vulcanizing agents are added. The foam is then heated and molded in a steel mold which gives the latex its final form. It then has to be cooled, washed and dried prior to being covered with its cotton cover.

How is the Dunlop certified latex made?

For the manufacture of the body of the Kipli mattress, we import liquid latex from Sri Lanka to Italy. The first stage of the transformation process of the liquid latex is vulcanization. This consists of adding natural vulcanizing agents to the latex which then transforms it into foam. This foam is then molded in a steel mold, cut with metal rods and heated. This part of the process is what gives the latex its final shpae and its visco-elastic properties . The latex is washed and dried to remove any residues or moisture that are still present. Finally, assembling the different layers of the latex is reached using a water-based glue and liquid latex. The mattress core will then be ready to be covered manually. Once the mattress body and the cover have been joined together, the mattress is compressed and enveloped in recycled plastic before being inserted into the jute fabric that will protect it during its travels through the delivery process.

Which is better? Natural or synthetic latex?

100% natural latex has superior qualities compared to synthetic latex foam. It doesn't contain any chemicals or generate any harmful emissions. We use 100% natrual latex in all our mattresses which is better for your health and for the environment. We don't sell any products that are mixed with synthetic latex. Synthetic latex isn't produced by collecting the sap from the Hevea Brasiliensis tree. It is a cheaper material that's made from petroleum by-products. Synthetic latex is far less durable and can emit dangerous substances. In summary: **100% natural latex mattress: ** Doesn't contain any harmful chemicals and can last up to 25 years with no VOCs and no artificial odors. **Synthetic latex mattress: ** lasts less than 10 years, contains VOCs, has a strong odor and can cause allergies in people with certain intolerances.

Natural latex mattresses have natural antibacterial and anti-mite properties. A natural latex mattress is ideally suited for people who have sensitivities or allergies . How do I clean my Kipli pillow?

The Kipli pillowcase is made from organic cotton, blended with a recycled microfibre that makes it easily washable without shrinking. The cover can be machine washed up to a maximum temperature of 30°C , followed by **drying in the open air **. The pillow's core is made from natural latex and cannot be washed. We recommend that you leave it out in the open air from time to time so that the natural fibres can regenerate.

Baby Mattress: We have two different sized children's mattresses: the 60x120cm mattress is ideal for children aged up to 3-4 years. the 70x140cm mattress will give your child more space and will extend its usability up to about 5 years of age. Do Kipli products have toxic or flame-retardant agents?

We don't use flame-retardants. Most of the products that do use them are renowned for their negative effects such as hair loss and toxicity Our products don't contain fire retardant treatments. Latex doesn't have the same flammable qualities as synthetic foams. The Kipli pillow passed the flame proof test without having been subjected to any treatments.

How are the two layers of latex joined?

The Kipli mattress is made up of two layers of natural latex . One layer is lighter and softer and the other is thicker and firmer. The two layers with their different densitites are joined with a water-based glue and liquid latex . These products aren't harmful.

Do you delivery to upper floors?

You can change or schedule your delivery to somewhere nearby. This may enable you to collect your parcel on a Saturday.

What is the procedure for reimbursements?

As part of the returns process, you can expect a refund on your order within an estimated time of 14 days maximum from the date of return of your mattress to our dealer. There is no minimum number of trial nights so take your time to make a proper assessment of the mattress. If you want to go ahead with the return, we will ask you to send us photos of the mattress to verify that it is in good condition. We'll also ask you for a photo of the mattress once it has been packed up and protectively wrapped. We recommend that, when you receive your mattress, you keep the recycled plastic that protects it so that you can reuse this to package it in the event of a return. Once we have received all the photos, the courier company will contact you to arrange a date for the collection of your mattress. How do I clean my mattress?

Cleaning your Kipli mattress isn't as difficult as you might expect so that, even with the most unfortunate accidents, you can still clean it with regular cleaning products. Nevertheless, we still recommend that you always use a mattress protector, particularly on a child's mattress. ## General: The mattress cover can be easily removed and can be machine washed on the delicate cycle or at a maximum temperature of 40º . If the stain is large, apply a light stain remover to it prior to washing. If the stain is superficial and only on the cover, this should be sufficient. If you want to replace the cover with a new one, just get in touch with us and we'll sort out a replacement cover (around 20% of the value of the mattress price) If the liquid has seeped through the cover, you can still clean the mattress core. Water doesn't harm natural latex unlike memory foam mattresses. The use of strong cleaning agents such as "cholorine" is not recommended. Try to remove the stain by gently wiping it with a sponge or a damp cloth - but don't rub it. Leave the damp patch to air dry. Light cleaning: If you want to "refresh" or lightly clean your Kipli mattress, you can use "bicarbonate of soda" which is an excellent household product you'll find in any supermarket. Uncover your matterss, "mop up" the liquid stain and "sprinkle" a small amount of bicarbonate of soda on the mattress core. Leave it to work for around "30 minutes" and then vacuum it up with your vacuum cleaner. Cleaning a stain: If we're talking about a "light stain" then you can use the same method as shown above, "light cleaning" making sure to absorb any remaining moisture with a sponge or cloth, applying a thick layer of baking soda on the stain and then leaving it to dry for around an hour before vacuuming. If we're talking about a larger stain , be it dirt, blood or urine, it is advisable to use natural methods. Firstly, remove the cover and wash it in the machine at a temperature of 40º Then gently blot the remaining liquid from the mattress with the help of a sponge or a cloth, but do not rub. Apply a thick layer of bicarbonate of soda on the stain so that it will absorb any remaining moisture. Then vacuum it. Finally, use some white vinegar or a biodegradable detergent and apply this with a rag or a cloth, without rubbing. If after this, there is still some staining but the mattress is dry, it shouldn't be a problem. The most important thing is to extract any moisture when cleaning the stain. How should I choose the type of slats for my bed frame?

Choosing the right slats for your bed base is important as this determines the overall firmness of your mattress by up to 30% or 40%.

If you prefer to sleep on a softer surface, we recommend the flexible slats. If you prefer a greater level of firmness, then you should choose the rigid slats.

We would recommend for customers who weigh more, that they opt for choosing a bed base with adjacent slats (with 3 cm spacing between each slat).
